As of right now because of how close we are to Dia de los Muertos which translates to Day of the Deas which is celebrated on November 1st for the kids and 2nd for adults. I would love to be in Mexico City with my family celebrating our loved ones who have departed. Mexico City is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year really. I grew up there and it amazes me at how diverse the city is and always makes me feel proud of my culture and traditions. During the months of October and November there are art galleries, parades and many exhibitions around the city to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. There is an annual parade dedicated to Catrinas in the Center of the city and it is full of amazing art and food, don’t even get me started on the food! There is this special bread they make called “Pan de muerto” which translates to “bread of the dead” which funny story when I was little and had just moved to Mexico I always believed the bread was made from ashes of the dead because of the name but later on I found out it was made like any other pastry with flour and other ingredients. The city also always makes sure to decorate the Palace in the center of city and displays many beautiful Ofrendas in the center of the plaza. Ofrendas can be dedicated to anyone from your loved ones which many families display at home, you can also put your pets picture up and even the picture of a famous person like the Ofrenda below that is up in memory of luchadores.
