Each week, I will post a prompt on Canvas for you to respond to here on your blog. You will have a choice between answering the provided prompt, or selecting from a short list of alternative options. Here is an example of what you might see on Canvas:

You will complete a total of five blog posts throughout this course, each with their own due dates. The final post will be due at the end of Week 7. For each weekly submission, you’ll provide a URL (on Canvas) directly to the applicable post’s drop box. It will be graded with the following rubric:

Notice the rubric indicates that you include at least one illustrative multimodal component. In other words, provide a picture (or another graphic like a chart, map, table, video, etc.) that illustrates a claim or idea in your writing. Whenever possible, create your own graphic, as these original works make for a more authentic experience with your post. You can include images within the body of your text and also as a cover photo.
While I’ve offered you some structure for these posts, I really want you to write about subjects that mean something to you. Your words could open someone’s eyes, teach them something, change their perspective, or reach them emotionally. Use this blog to build community within our class and start a virtual conversation. Happy blogging!
