Hello everyone! As the semester wraps up, I like to open digital art commissions as a way to get back into illustration. I love this type of work, but it is not the degree I am pursuing. So I like to open up commissions like this as a way to get back into the regular swing of things. I have been doing commissions for about seven years now, so I am very familiar with the process. My usual go-to is to make a post on social media advertising my prices. I create photos advertising the different types of art I make and its price that way it is easy for people to read and digest.

The general rule of thumb is to charge based on hours spent on work, but this is just a side gig to me so I create prices based on what I value my work. I enjoy using commissions as a way to draw things out of my comfort zone. The summer is usually a slow season for my current job, so picking up art commissions here and there helps give me some extra money to play with while I am out of school.
