Drawing is a way we can express ourselves without words.
Sometimes it can be hard to describe how you’re really feeling to another person. It’s not always easy to put into words just how much you love something or someone. Sometimes the best way to really get through to someone is through the arts. It can be visualization of life, and a persons struggles, or passions. Art has been used as a form of rebellion over the course of history through the modern day and it continues to inspire others to do the same. Even art made poorly is still a manifestation of its creator and is worth something for that. No two pieces can be perfectly identical. It’s something that feels like a part of being human to me.
I like to draw for the fun of it. I really enjoy creating for the shows that I love and getting to share those with other people. I know I’ve drawn myself quite a few times over the years and I feel like those drawings help show how I was really doing back then too. Sometimes it’s nice to look back on them to see how far I’ve come. It’s always interesting to look at a series of portraits to see how the artist viewed themself over the years.

There doesn’t always need to be a reason behind drawing though either. You can create something simply because you can. I think that’s worth something too.
