Hello everyone,
My name is Elijah Cardenas, and I’m thrilled to be one of your classmates. I am currently working toward a major in nursing, a field I’ve chosen because of its diverse opportunities and its ability to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Nursing offers so many specialties and departments to explore, and while I haven’t decided exactly where I want to focus, I am confident in my goal to become a Registered Nurse.
When it comes to choosing a department, the possibilities are truly vast. I could pursue a path as a Certified Nurse Midwife, assisting in bringing new life into the world, or I might thrive in the fast-paced environment of the Emergency Room, where quick decisions can save lives. Pediatrics, where nurses care for children, and Public Health, which focuses on promoting wellness across communities, are equally appealing options. These are just a few examples and there are countless other specialties out there that offer unique challenges and rewards. I know I have time to explore these options and find the right fit as I progress through my studies.
For now, I am focused on completing my community college coursework as a solid foundation for the next phase of my journey. My plan is to transfer to Arizona State University and join their nursing program, where I can deepen my knowledge and skills. ASU’s program is well-known for preparing nurses to excel in a variety of healthcare settings, and I am excited to see where it takes me.
Being on this college journey with all of you makes the experience even more meaningful. It is inspiring to be surrounded by peers who are equally passionate about pursuing their dreams. I look forward to learning and growing together as we navigate this exciting chapter of our lives.
